What the play actually is
You place a tile. The next player passes. The one after them passes. The third passes too, and the turn is back with you having lost nothing. Three opponents, three knocks, one trip around the table — a paso redondo.
The name says it plainly: the pass went all the way around. Some tables say paso corrido or pase corrido instead, and they mean exactly the same play. If you hear any of the three, you are hearing about the same trip around the table.

Why it only exists at a full table
Paso redondo is a four-player bonus by definition. It needs three opponents to pass in sequence, and a two-player game only has one opponent to begin with.
That is not a technicality. At a heads-up table a single pass is ordinary — it happens constantly and means far less. The bonus exists because getting past three separate hands without an answer is genuinely hard and genuinely revealing.
